About AHS Youth Program

Overview

Asian Health Services (AHS) Youth Program provides comprehensive reproductive health education, advocacy, and family planning clinical access for youth ages 12-19 primarily living in the Oakland metropolitan area. Program components work to provide a continuum of services, from prevention education to no-cost, confidential family planning counseling and clinical access.

AHS Youth Program began providing advocacy and youth services in 1996. As a Health Education program at AHS, the youth program continues to fulfill the mission of Asian Health Services by providing health care access, education, and advocacy for API youth throughout Alameda County.

Staffed by the Youth Program Coordinator and health educators, AHS Youth Program provides: comprehensive reproductive health education in local area middle and high schools and community-based organizations; one-to-one no-cost confidential family planning counseling; peer leadership development; and outreach at local area festivals and events.
